Welcome to the nurse's office, where we are going to talk about menstruation. Menstruation means getting your period. (Your period is that time of the month when blood comes out of your vagina). By the way, although it seems like the word "men" is in menstruation, it just refers to month, because most women bleed once a month.
Your body is going through lots of changes right now. We know that getting your first period might seem like a really scary, weird thing. You may have heard that you bleed and get really angry and maybe even that it hurts. Camp Cranky wants you to remember that menstruation is a completely normal, natural part of becoming a woman, and there is nothing to be afraid of. Getting your period just means that you are healthy, and growing up. In fact, its one of the last stages of puberty.
